The KyU Drama club excelled in the just concluded Central Region Drama Festival held at Meru University from 19-23 March, 2018
At an event that was attended by seventeen (17) universities and technical colleges, our team emerged position one (1) overall in Modern Dance, two in Choral Verse and Narrative respectively, three in Mime, four in Solo verse and play respectively and six in stand-up-comedy.
KyU team was awarded four trophies for: Modern Dance, Choral verse, Narrative and mime. They also received eleven special award certificates in: Best costume and Décor Solo verse, Best costume and décor modern dance, best item on Environmental Conservation (Solo Verse), Best item on conflict Resolution (Choral verse), Best costume and décor (Narrative), Runners up best; costume and décor, presentation, composed (choral Verse), 2nd runners up best costume and décor mime and Adjudicators Award (Play). In addition, six items proceeded to the National Drama festivals which was held between 6- 9 April, 2018 at Moi Girls School, Nairobi.

The KyU Drama club excelled in the just concluded National Drama Festivals held at Moi Girls School, Nairobi Kenya on April 6-9, 2018.
Our team emerged number one (1) overall in Modern Dance (Titled: Rebirth) and Solo verse (Titled: Takakata), two (2) in Narrative (Titled: Kabambe) and three (3) in Play (Vintage Under Siege).
KyU also produced best female reciter, best female and male dancers and second runners up best Narrator and best Actor respectively.
The KyU teams therefore qualified to participate in the Drama Galla Festivals in Nairobi from 10-12 April, 2018 with all the four entries namely; Modern dance, Solo verse, Narrative and Play.

Prof. Mary Ndung’u, the Vice Chancellor, KyU has alongside her co-authors received a Journal of Agriculture and Food Chemistry (JAFC) Research Article of the Year Award. The publication titled “identification of the Ubiquitous Antioxidant Tripeptide Glutathione as a Fruit Fly Semio chemical” is currently on the” peer review spotlight”. The Deputy Vice Chancellor and the entire KyU family congratulate Professor Ndung’u for this Progressive achievement.
Paul Njau Gitau a KyU knowledge ambassador Reg No. HB101/G/3958/17 of the school of health sciences facilitated on Friday March 16, 2018 a training on optimized utilization of e-resources to his colleagues.
The training that took place in the KyU library main hall demonstrated to 24 students how to access and use the KyU subscribed e-resources, Online Public Access Catalogue and how to access past papers and journal articles online.
