KyU hosted tournaments on February 24-25, 2018 for 6 Universities from KUSA-Central Conference. The event comprised play-offs for; volleyball for Men & Women, football and handball for Men, and netball for Women.
KyU men’s handball team emerged position two and hence qualified for the KUSA- National playoffs to be held in Taita-Taveta University on March 22-25, 2018.

This is to inform staff, students and other stakeholders that Kirinyaga University has been granted approval by Kenya Institute of Supplies management to train professionals in APS-K and CPSP-K.
Whereas CPSP-K is designed to equip learner with knowledge, practical skills and attitudes to perform duties as supply chain managers, supervisors, directors and consultants, APS-K on the other hand equips learners with knowledge, practical skills and attitudes requisite to handling operational and administrative tasks as well as processes in procurement and supply chain management.
These qualifications are highly regarded in Kenya and elsewhere in the world because of the critical role played by supply chain managers in public and private sector procurement.
We inform our students, staff and other stakeholders that KyU will be mounting these programs effective May, 2018.
Kirinyaga University featured positively with seven areas of achievement in the 2016/17 Presidential report on National Cohesion and Values.
During a meeting held at the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) on February 20, 2018 at which the Directorate of National Cohesion and Values, received and incorporated contribution of MDAs in the report, KyU was recognized and proudly awarded Certificate for fully complying with the 2016/17 Performance Contracting requirement.
KyU teams participated and registered commendable performance in the KUSA Central games held at South Eastern Kenya University on January 27-28, 2018 in an event at which 6 universities participated, Kirinyaga University emerged position 1 of 6 in Badminton men, Table Tennis men and women, Position 2 of 6 in Handball women and position 3 of 6 in Rugby men.
KyU teams were awarded trophies and certificates for the sterling performance. Consequently, the teams will also represent KUSA-Central Conference in the KUSA National play offs to be held on March 22-25, 2018 at Taita Taveta University. Kirinyaga University will represent the KUSA-Central Conference in Badminton men, Table tennis for men and women and handball women.
